Behind the Scenes

A Year in Review: 2017

There are a lot of things I have despaired about this year.

I’m not going to go into a long rant about politics or the state of the world but I think we all know what I mean when I say that I really thought 2016 was as bad as it could get but I was clearly wrong!

But because of this, it is easy to get sucked into the problems of the world at large and overlook my own achievements. I think this time of year is perfect to look back at our own lives, to see where we were one year ago and compare that to where we are now.

I really couldn’t believe it when I first started to look back. I had to go onto Amazon and double check the publishing date for Escape to Pirate Island; May 23rd, 2017! Just over six months ago.

I had convinced myself that it was published in mid 2016, so much has

happened in that short time. This year alone, I have re-published Mask of the Highwaywoman, released Magic and Romance, Escape to Pirate Island, and re-released Delicious and Gretel.

That is a phenomenal amount of work!

I have also created this website, created a mailing list and made some wonderful new friends, all things I would have never believed I was going to do if you had asked me on New Year’s Eve 2016.

So, even if you are surrounded by chaos, or feeling down about the world outside, take a moment to look back at the last twelve months and you might surprise yourself with what you discover.

What have been your highpoints of 2017? What has made you really proud? I would love to read your stories in the comments!
